LEARN MORE ABOUT SIMPSON’S TRANSFER & FEED LTD.
Simpson’s Transfer & Feed Ltd. was established in the year 1910. From meatpacking houses to grocery store chains, commercial accounts, and many others, we have a wide range of customers. For these customers, we deliver fresh, dry, and frozen products of high quality at the right temperature. The company has been successfully serving Manitoba’s food delivery and container needs for over a decade now. We also have a sister business that provides roll-off container rental and retrieval services.
Our History
The company has been in uninterrupted operation since 1910 – for more than 114 years – and remains a family-owned business. Initially, The “Simpson” in “Simpson Transfer” was Hazel Sexton’s father, who started loading train cars, hauling freight such as live poultry and alfalfa meal, and delivering fresh and frozen products.
Presently, we are in our 3rd generation and plan to enter the next century with the 4th generation. Mr. Simpson maintained a modest operation of 3 trucks until approximately 1952. Mr. John Sexton, his son-in-law, has been responsible for steady, cost-effective growth from 1952 until the mid-1980s. Now his son, Phillip Sexton, runs the daily operation of the business.
The company has grown from those 3 trucks in the 1940s to a current operation that now has over 50 units listed as insured. We were the first in the area to offer roll-off services for waste management in the 1960s, and now our operations have also expanded to include the following areas:
Rental of property, space, and storage
Handling of glue, packing, meat, garbage, hides, feathers, poultry, renderings, tallows, blood, ice cream, bones and fats, and other commodities
Simpson’s Transfer & Feed Ltd. is built on a hard-won reputation of excellence and service. We are proud of this long heritage and work day in and day out to sustain it. At present, we have plans for a new, HACCP-certified facility for the future. Keep an eye on this website for more updates! Contact us now for more information.
