Serving Manitoba’s Food Delivery & Container Needs Since 1910

Our customers include most of the meat packing houses and other commercial accounts, grocery store chains, and others. For these clients we deliver fresh, dry and frozen products of the highest quality at the right temperature. A separate branch of our company offers roll-off container rental and retrieval.

Our History

The “Simpson” in “Simpson Transfer” was Hazel Sexton’s father, who started out loading train cars, hauling such freight as alfalfa meal and live poultry, and delivering fresh and frozen products. The company has been in continuous operation since 1910 – more than 100 years – and remains a family-owned business. Now we’re in our 3rd generation and plan to enter the next century with the 4th generation.

Mr. Simpson maintained a modest operation of 3 trucks until approximately 1952. Mr. John Sexton, his son-in-law, has been responsible for consistent, profitable growth from 1952 until the mid-1980s. Now his son, Phillip Sexton, runs the daily operation of the business.

The company has grown from those 3 trucks in the ‘40s to an operation that now has over 50 units listed as insured. Our company was the first in the area to offer roll-off services for waste management in the 1960s and now operations have also expanded to include the following:

  • Rental of property, space and storage
  • Handling of glue, packing, meat, garbage, hides, feathers, poultry, renderings, tallow, blood, ice cream, bones and fats, and other commodities.

We are proud of this long heritage and work every day to sustain and build on a hard-won reputation of excellence and service. We now have plans for a new, HACCP-certified facility for the future. Keep your eye on this website for updates!
